Rules of the day

• The tournaments are run on a league basis
• Each team will have an older mentor who will keep wicket – the mentor will not bat or bowl but will do everything else they can to ensure their team wins!
• Each side starts with 100 runs per game
• Each match consists of 5 overs per side
• Each player will bowl one six-ball over per game
• Wides and No Balls count as 2 runs to the opposition, no extra ball
• Batsmen bat in pairs for 2 overs each per game, one team member will bat twice - to be selected by the mentor each game.
• The team batting first is listed first in the tournament schedule for each match
• Each wicket costs the batting side 6 runs
• At the fall of a wicket, the batsmen must swap ends so that the other player faces the next delivery (unless their two over stint is done)
• There are NO LBWs!
• We are playing with the softer balls so no pads required. Batting gloves are advisable to save blisters.
• The winning team scores 3 points, the losing team scores 1 point
• In the event of a tie, 2 points are given to both teams
• The top two sides based on league position will proceed to the final. In the event of a points tie, the number of runs scored throughout the tournament will be the determining factor. If the number of runs are the same, I’ll give up and get myself a large glass of red....
• The final is played in the same format as above, no extra balls
• There are trophy rewards for the winners and runners-up of each tournament

There are also Player of the Tournament awards for each tournament including trophies for most wickets & most boundaries on the day.
